Bought a 6.5 CM today. Savage 12FV from Cabela's. Was dang hard to pass up the $369.99 price tag with an included voucher for a $100 rebate putting final price at $269.99. My question is this...the 12FV is a blind box magazine. What if any aftermarket bottom metal is available for that rifle? As far as ammo goes, got 2 boxes of Nosler branded 120NBT. Should be murder on whitetails. Bought them mainly for the Nosler brass.

I have three savages, two Creedmoor, and a 308. All shoot well. Did yours come with the factory rail?

I jumped on the same deal and bought a 6.5 CM as well. Too good of a deal to pass up. Haven’t shot mine just yet but hope to do so very soon.

The cost and trouble of adding bottom metal isn't worth it. Most of my favorite rifles over the years have had blind magazines. Having bottom metal is over rated.
I've been shooting 143 Hornady ELD-X bullets, both factory and handloads in my Ruger Predator. Accuracy has been so good I haven't seen the need to look elsewhere.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

I did add one to my 12FV. Until I can save up for a Night force SHV, I topped it with a Cabela's branded scope. Scope was originally $350 but they were closing them out for $80. Didn't figure it to be too bad of a deal. 6-18x50 w/30mm tube. It's a Vortex built scope. I am going to upgrade the stock. I'm a laminated wood guy. And Boyd's Pro Varmint is atop The list

Are you asking about inletting the factory issue injection molded stock for some sort of after-market bottom metal with a hinged floorplate? It wouldn't be hard to do with a mill, but it would take some time and you'd have to do a cost-benefit analysis to determine if the cost was worth it to you. I'd be more likely to opt for a Boyds laminated stock, like the Prairie Hunter style, if I was going to do an inexpensive stock upgrade and adapt myself to the blind magazine.

Buy CDI BM and run AI mags. If I'm not mistaken if you buy CDI they inlet for you for nothing. Something new Jeff is doing. Even if you're charged it's $60 to inlet and it's back to you in under a week not months of broken promises.

I saw that CDNN dropped their prices on the Savage 11 and 111 Hunter XP package guns to $400 with a $100 rebate, so there is your opportunity to get a light/sporter contour barrel 6.5 Creedmoor on the cheap.
