Symbolism. Remember when you graduated high school you moved the tassel from one side to the other? Well John has moved his boot from the right to the left, signifying his move to the democrat party.

It's not at all uncommon to do this. He had surgery and walking with the boot or a walking cast puts unusual strain on the other side. That happens a lot. He just switched sides to give the left a rest.

Thank you for your support & best wishes. My left leg was doing extra work to compensate for the boot, so I’m giving it a break. I still hate wearing this boot, but it won’t slow us down from frying 7 turkeys today!

I've spent more then a little bit of time in a walking boot (badly broken ankle which eventually required surgery x2) and I've never heard of switching it to the other foot like that. Of course I had military doctors so that might be the reason I never heard of it.
