I am in the market for a new set of binoculars. I have been looking for some deals online but have not found much. I don't see any Black Friday deals listed on the Camera Land web site, so I was wondering if you all know of any retailers that are going to have a good sale on binoculars??

Doug has issued notice that they are receiving their Athlon shipment and Athlon is including a free harness with a binocular purchase. The notice also says to "PLEASE CALL TO DISCUSS SPECIAL INCENTIVES".

The Cabela's Black Friday ad can be found on the net. They are offering a 5:00 AM door buster special for 5 hours of a 10X42 Vortex Diamond Back for $129.99 in store only, while supplies last. They are also showing Cabela's brand optics to be 25% off. The popular ones usually sell out fast. The Nikon LaserForce Rangefinder shows $200 off at $999.99. The ad also says $50 off some Monarch models, but not much in the way of specifics. All but the Diamond Back pricing looks to run from Wed. the 22nd to Wed. the 29th. Be sure and confirm that because you have to be a lawyer to figure the fine print on some of these ads.

I did not see any name brands on sale in the Bass Pro BF ad. They just listed discounts off an Oculus and a Pursuit.

Tract had a 15% holiday store wide promotion last year that ran from about Dec 9th to Dec. 21st. It would be worthwhile to keep an eye on them to see what they do this year, if anything.

Optics Planet is currently offering 10% off GPO binoculars. They also have frequent promotions of 10% off checkout codes so keep an eye on them. Sometimes it is a little higher than that for a holiday.

Maven has a 15% off deal going on right now on their new C series.

Rogers Sporting Goods has a great price right now on their eBay store for the Bushnell Legend M 8X42 at about $160. It is a high quality entry level binocular competing with others in the $300 class and more.

Keep in mind that Cyber Monday follows Black Friday and sometimes that is when even better deals show up. Amazon has ever changing deals during the BF Cyber Monday period so be sure and monitor any specific models you are interest in just in case it goes on sale.

It would help if you could give some information as to what you are interested in power and size wise along with price and any particular models.

I am looking for a mid-range set of 8x42 or 8x56. I was thinking the Nikon 7's, Vortex Vipers, Tract optics or maybe some good Bushnells.

Optics Planet has an 11% off discount code of THX11 good for today only (Nov 23rd, 2017), ending at midnight CST.

In addition, they are offering a $150 gift certificate on some Zeiss models including the 8X42 Conquest HD. The 8X42 price is normally $969.99 but comes to $863.29 after applying the coupon and includes the $150 gift certificate. Optics Planet sells many non optics items such as knives, sun glasses back packs, flashlights, etc that I assume will work for a future purchase with the gift certificate. The Zeiss 8X54 HT is also included in the gift certificate promotion.

Optics Planet has replaced the now expired above coupon. The new coupon code is BLFR for an 11% discount. This Offer ends 11/28/17 at 11:59 PM CST and applies to multiple product lines that they offer.

They also have a second coupon code that applies to many of the binoculars they carry and it gets a 13% discount at checkout so try it first for binoculars. The code is BFBN13 and the offer ends 12/1/17 at 11:59 PM CST.

To follow up on the Conquest HD 8X42 example above, the normal price is $969.99 and is $843.89 and the $150 Gift Certificate is added to the cart at no extra charge.

Another option is the Opticron iMagic 10X42 BGA VHD as an alterative to the Tract Toric which is not on special at the moment. The iMagic is normally $629.00 and is $547.23 after the discount code. I have both in the 10X42 and they are basically twins in different clothes. The iMagic includes a case, but it is on the small size. I would assume the two are also alike in the 8X42.

Calling Doug first is a good idea since they do not as a habit update their website with current manufacturer promotions. They seem to handle them through forum postings and personal contact. I have found Doug to be great at responding to e-mails!

I hear you. But I ponied up the money for the new 8x32. It was still a very good deal.

Noticed Optics Planet has a code of BFSCP14 for 14% off rifle scopes, some products excluded. Just as a test, I selected a Zeiss Victory V8 at $3,499.99. The code gave a discount of $490 with a final price of $3,009.99 and a $250 gift certificate was also included in the cart with this Zeiss scope. I also tried it on a $2,099.99 Leupold VX-6 scope and the discount worked and also included a $250 gift certificate. It did not work with a couple of Nikons that I tested.

There is also a code of BFLS14 for 14% off laser sights.

Thanks for the replies. I found a great deal on Vortex Vipers at Optics Planet. They reduced the Vipers down from $598 to $391. I couldn't pass up a $200 dollar mark down.

Thanks for posting this. I needed bino's and never would have looked at optics planet. Glad I did scored a pair of 10x42 vortex diamonbacks for a cool $119. $10 better than cabelas doorbuster and I didnt need to leave the house.
