Has anyone here had any experience with some of the current semi-auto gas turkey guns on the market today? Specifically looking at factory turkey based models only.

Beretta A350 Xtrema Turkey
Winchester SX3 Turkey
Remington Versamax Sportsman Turkey
Mossberg 935 Magnum Turkey

Starting to look into a new turkey shotgun for next spring. These have gained my interest. I'm most drawn to the Beretta as I like the features it offers and it comes from the factory with pic rail mounted on the receiver. Mostly looking for a gas gun with a 22-24" barrel. I plan on loading TSS this winter to shoot in whatever I get.

I bought the weatherby because it was light and handy. It doesn't pattern as well as I would like though. I enjoy carrying it though and am happy with purchase but I am not taking long shots. It is worth checking out.

Can't go go wrong with the beretta. That was my first choice before I found the weatherby on sale for 450$.

The remington is known for good patterns, but heavy.

I think id reconsider the Beretta, it may be a great shotgun but if you need service there is no worse CS than at Beratta USA, i know this from experience......Good luck...Hb

Personally I'd go with the Versamax from those that you listed, but I'd probably try to find an 1187 if I could pick from any gas operated gun for turkeys, even if they are heavier. I know someone with a 935 for sale, too- if you decide to go with one of those, let me know.

Yep... A Benelli M2 20 gauge is perfection in the turkey woods. With the right loads, and especially if you're going to load TSS, a 20 is very capable to 40+ yards. The slim, lightweight little Benelli is easy packing and fast handling, reliable and easy to maintain.

Lot of good reports on the Benelli 20 gauge and info on choke/shell combos too! I use a 870 in 20 for turkeys with NO issues if I do my part.

The SX3 has a back bored barrel. They aren't picky with load selection. Browning have the same bore diameter. The back bored guns shoot more consistently, period. I have shot many many guns at the pattern board and there is a difference. That being said my turkey gun is a old M1 with 21" barrel, so I'm not biased.
