I'm looking for a round bale spear to attach to a tractor 3 pt hitch. The whole implemen - not just the spear itself.

Anyone have or know of one available?

If you can weld you can make one pretty easy. I’d go to the farm and get you some dimensions if you want.

I have a friends spear as a template if I go the fab route.

I think I’ve located one at a tolerable price.

Was hoping someone would have one not in use or a neighbor with one.

I can stick things together, gas and arc, but would not call myself a welder.

Last time I borrowed my buddies tractor one of the draft links had been misplaced. Needing to run the box blade and not having time to wait to figure out where the part had been misplaced I made do. Now if a desk jockey can bang out a temporary replacement part...

But this is a spear...

Can you imagine his despair should his spear suffer from E D?

Clearly, a punch below the belt.

You know, you don't have to 'be a welder' to weld stuff. If I'm wrong, I'm sure glad no one told me before I stuck a few pieces of tube together 30 years ago in order to drag a couple old farm tractors and assorted implements to another location 500 miles away. It even worked.

And that was the first of perhaps a dozen trailers I've welded, among a variety of other stuff. I'm still not a welder, but I'm having fun learning, and it's kind of satisfying to be jerking stuff around the wide open spaces of Alaska with some confidence.

I'll bet you might surprise yourself too, Mike.

Got one right here I'm not using at this time. Loving an open, mild December. Haven't had to feed anything except the kids' 4H calves.
