I'm a big fan of the Leverevolution ammo myself. Especially the first year or so of it's production. Those batches were incredibly accurate in my Marlin. It shoots the new stuff pretty well too but not as good as the old runs. There is not much that I crave more than a hunt in the N.C, mountains with my old 336. My confidence level is through the roof when I am hunting with it.

The 336 is all I need as well. I didn't have luck tagging a buck. The season ends on Sunday. I'm eating tag soup.
However, I did have a tall spike cruise right by me at 15 yards away, spot me, and get a bit stand offish..... that was interesting
Having him stomp and snort at me. He was full of himself and brave.

I also had 12 or so does walk right by me at the same distance......... they didn't see me or didn't give a fug I was there? Not sure which
Scenario it was. Regardless, it was nice.

The 336 .duhrty-30 is all I need here. It would be rare if I needed to take a shot over 100 yards. It's typical to hear and stalk the dang
black tails and land within rock throwing distance when you spot them......

Good luck tagging a legal one in your neck of the woods gents.

I'm going to start working up lead free ammo loads for next year....

Ohio - 1894 in 44 mag. 2 running shots @ 80+ yds through the woods after my buddy jumped him. First shot crushed the front shoulder and took off the top of the heart. Second shot was center neck and cart wheeled him. Now to kill one at home with my 35 rem.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Nice!!! That round had ta put a thump on that buck hard!! I need to get on the board with my marlin. Seen about 9 does and fawns this morning, a forky and the broken rack 8 I have seen 3-4 times. Now he is a 5pt left beam gone about 2inches above his g1 , like to see what he is possibly messing with to do that. He made it this far into the season. He has a pass from me now. Hopefully he survives till next year. The wife has 2 coworkers that want to fill up their freezer with deer. I told her I got 2 buck tags but I ain't shooting nothing less than an 8 as wide as its ears or better for the 1st one I kill with my marlin and they are more than welcome to the carcass. Unbred Does are coming into 2nd estrous right around now till 3 wk of dec. Told her to tell her coworkers give up$ 12.50 apeice , i will get my type 94 and kill em some does from Dec 18 to Jan 8 time frame. I don't like shooting slickheads, i like em relaxed and comfortable in the places I hunt. This doe thing , i might take 2 out of each of the 3 places I hunt at the most, maybe 1 per place. Im not to hyped up on it really. Kinda have also thought about dropping a doe early if given the chance and let it lay their for scent till I call it a day , but then I would stress over what might have been behind her and took off. Might work , might not. Honestly I would rather shoot a yote for my 1st kill with this rifle than a slickhead.
