The book, Alaska Man, has been recommended. Anybody know of him or his book?

On their website they call the books "novels" which is likely quite true...

Having known Peter Grimm passingly, the guy that actually built Icy Bay Lodge, I found some of the claims a bit strange. It is obvious they owned Icy Bay Lodge for some time, having purchased it from Pete.

It is also obvious they know their way around a court room...

Well, he did file a restraining order against his wife for DV and she violated it, according to the Courts...

Hard to tell exactly how many cases are relevant because there are several George Davis entries and it is clear some are not the one... birthdates are only listed on some of the cases, but some are clearly him from other info on the site. It looks like close to a third of close to a hundred entries are him in one fashion or another... his father probably has the same name, further confusing things.

I read a bunch last night and this morning. He came to Alaska with an older brother in 1971. He was 15years old. His folks remained in the lower 48. He lived in Haines for several years. He is a serious commercial fisherman and pilot. I don't know about it as a trilogy. This book is a collection of his memoirs. Debbie was his wife for many years, but his website mentions Jill as a wife. I've not got to where he divorced Debbie or passed away.

I better stop making assumptions... It is very confusing because of the numbers of guys named the same, in the same area, with some histories. One with just a few entries for positive is the right age. Most do not list the pertinent stuff to make it clear...

Of course a guy writing a book could gloss over a few things. He appears to be a very hard worker and does anything for a buck. He does not shy away from tough or dirty work. He was a very good, truck, boat, and aircraft mechanic. One of the things he did was learn to fly to get his fish to the canneries or market quickly. He liked things put in order and clean. That was his various boats and aircraft. It is the same with his cabins. He was very careful with his shotguns, rifles, and pistols. At this time in the book he owns a 206. George is a guy that is not afraid to stick up for himself, friends, and family. He was based close to Yakutat for his fishing. Said in the day the locals didn't like any of the outsiders.
I'm anxious to read more.

Sounds interesting at the very least.

George and Jill built the lodge that you spoke of and 2 others. All were sold. He bought an additional 206, a 180 on floats, and a Beaver. I guess he makes his money with fly in photography, off grid advice, and power sources for the off grid folks.
They never said what happened to his wife Debbie or his grown 2 boys. Jill is his present wife.

Took another angle... 4/5/99 was the official date of the divorce. She was 22 years younger than George.

With the cost of health insurance nowadays, if she was a Tier 1 state employee, I damn sure would!

Oh still plenty! But, I'm not impractical smile

Besides, I'm already married to an older woman, she just looks younger than me.
