I have a big "camp knife" or Bowie knife that is only marked "R. Babcock." Full tang made of stainless steel with birdseye maple scales w/five brass pins and brass lanyard hole; nice plain brown leather sheath.
Anybody know anything about this maker?

I got one response to this question on another forum where someone "thought" Richard or "Ritchie" Babcock was a small maker in Alabama in the 1980s. Anybody here from 'Bama who might have heard of him or have a Babcock-marked blade?
