OK, many people have a Burris Fullfield that was set many years ago and it has never moved. While not as popular as the Leupold it is a vey tough, bright and durable scope. powdr ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS

honestly I am moving away from BDC and learning to dial or got some CDS stye turrets. MUCH more precise.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Cabela's routinely has them on sale for $150, especially the 30 mm. I wish they had a "normal" reticle. There is a normal duplex E1 (I own one), part #200321. There was one on samplelist.com not too long ago. Cabelas has them on sale for $150 right now. Link to CabelasThese are great scopes for the money. Mine is mounted on a .243 that doesn't get shot much, so can't comment on durability, but I've owned a number of Burris scopes over the years and they have held up for me. For those that bitch about Burris CS - not sure what to say other than I've had great experiences with them. I had a Signature years ago that had some specs inside, sent it back and they cleaned it up and even gave the exterior and lenses a makeover. Took about a month. A couple years ago I dropped a signature select 4-16 at the range and it messed up the ocular lens. They replaced it no questions asked with a Veracity. Hard to complain about that upgrade. That's a great deal on a neat scope. Damn Cabela's. I went to Raise.com and bought some gift cards specifically to order one of these scopes. I placed an order Saturday evening but got an email this morning that it was canceled. Now I've got some gift card balances that I didn't need to buy. Eff 'em.

Why was the order canceled, did they give you a reason? If they were out of stock I figured they would put in on backorder? I would call them.

I ordered a FFII from OpticsPlanet on Cyber Monday and hunted with it yesterday afternoon for the first time. My initial impression is that it is good glass for the money and I think it will be a "set it and forget it" type scope. Some have complained about the eye box being the zoom but I think it is easier to work the magnification than having a smaller ring to turn. It does prevent you from using flip up scope covers but I don't use them anyways so not an issue for me.

I'd been watching Cabela's site on this scope over the weekend and had just decided to purchase last night and the above link came up as sold out with no other information. Oh well...

Burris over Vortex, for sure.
The Bushnell 3500 or 4500 series are also great in that price range.
You could also look for an "older" Bushnell 4200 or Elite in the 3-9 model. They are just as good or better for the price.

All Ballistic type plex's will work if the end user is willing to put in the range time to confirm what is happening where the rubber meets the road. Exactly.........

They were available and cheaper at Midway a few days ago I wasn't able to find the E1 3-9x40 with either of the reticle options on Midway's site, though they do show the Fullfield II as backorderable. Another Burris worth considering is the discontinued C4 - Natchez has them currently for $219. Not as good a price as the E1's on sale, but I like the reticle better with MOA windage marks on the horizontal and an elevation turret. I've been buying these whenever I find them at a discounted prices - usually either side of $200... https://www.natchezss.com/burris-c4-rifle-scope-3-9x40mm-c4-wind-moa-matte.html
