Looked at all the pictures of the bartlien 3B barrel from a old thread on here, but I’m wondering if anyone has any pictures of a 3B or a standard #5 next to a sendero / varmint contour barrel? I see the measurements but I was hoping to see it in reality. I’m building a 243 AI and debating hard between a 3B and a brux #4 mag sporter in 1-7.5... i’m thinking a 3B at 22 inches throwing the 115 bergers will be an amazing balance for a dog/antelope gun but I’m not a fan of heavy guns..

What's your target weight? What Stock are you considering? A bartlein #3 and a brux #4 are pretty much the same. A 3b will be a little heavier.

i had pacnor plumb up an 8x57 that I want to run suppressed. It's a Remmy mag contour from shank to where the taper is .750, and then straight .750 to muzzle at 22. In other words, similar to a 3b but trimmer shank. Dropped right into a factory mag inlet from McMillan with a little room to spare. I had it fluted and stopped the flutes 5" from the muzzle so I can whack it back to 18" and threaded 5/8-24 for suppressor use. It shoots well enough I really don't want to touch it. Balances quite well in a McMillan Mountaineer I had laying around. I'll have to weigh it but guessing sub 8lbs with a nightforce 2.5-10x32

Yep I understand that. I currently run a #4 brux on my Guns which is a .67 muzzle, I was hoping to see the .70 next to a full bull... Stock is still undecided but leaning towards a krg x Ray which is 3.4lbs +/-.. the scope is a NF nxs in Talley’s so sub 9lb is the goal. It shouldn’t be a issue with a 22 in barrel.

Would love to see a 3B in a varmint/sendero stock! That would solve all questions. Guys say it will fit nicely

Just for reference a short action Defiance with a #3 Bartlein @24" in a Mcm Classic which weighs 34 oz's topped with a leupold 4x14x40 LR comes in at 9 # 2 oz's.

Here you go. I just got these this morning. On top is a Bartlein 3B 27" 5R .308 1-10 twist. On bottom is a Krieger Remington Varmint 29" 6mm 4 groove 1-8 twist.
