What does everyone use to mount there scope on there 9422. I can't mount my scope far enough ahead because of the short dovetail on the reciever.

I have ring extenders (I think that is what they are called) for mounting scopes on shorter actions. The rings have an angle to them. Made by Weaver I think. Allows the rings to fit the bases but grip the scope a bit further back on tube. Had to use it on my Savage 270 WSM. Today I just moved that scope to my Win 94 30/30 and need to use same rings there too. My scope is a Leupold 2-7x33 about 11 inches long. Should work I think on 9422. Worth checking out anyway.

Thanks, but I don't know of any extensions that will fit a .22 dovetail.

Weaver makes a mount (TO-10) that slides on the dovetail that allows the scope to be mounted past the front of the receiver.

When I put a full sized Tasco on my 9417 (same dimensions as 9422) I has to put both rings on the back half of the scope tube between the eye piece bell and the adjustment knob hub. It looked a little wierd but it got the scope far enough forward for proper eye relief. Later I mounted a bery short compact shotgun type 4 power fixed scope from Simmons that was so short and small that it wasn't a problem. ![[Linked Image]](http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k95/97thSignalman/IMG_0894.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k95/97thSignalman/IMG_1774small.jpg)

LouisRiel, I just bought a Weaver 2-7 and med. Lynx rings from Russell's in Calgary. I specifically asked them if the combination would be OK on the short reciever of my 9422M. They said they had mounted "hundreds" like that. I ordered the scope and mounts, but didn't mount it on the gun until after the 14 days return limit. I had the same problem as you, scope is not far enough forward. Called Russel's. Their guy at the gun counter did not have anything to offer as a solution, and so much as told me I must be built kinda weird. I'm 6" tall, average arm length and average weight. My son has one of the compact Simmons scopes, in my opinion not very good quality. I wouldn't want one. I might just use the Weaver scope on something else and get an aperture sight. I'd be interested to hear what you do.

I bought the weaver "adapter" part #T0-10. You have to use normal weaver rings to mount the scope. It moved it forward about an inch which was just right
