This is for any 22-250 obviously but I developed it in the special 'campfire run of 8-twist lefties. Thanks SAS! There seems to be a paucity of R17 data for this case as I could find very little online so decided to go from scratch. I took the average of several max loads of IMR 4350 and started ~ 10% below that for both 4350 and R17.
I have a bunch of R17 on hand for my 284 in which it is superb. Since the 284 and the 22-250 have similar case-capacity to bore ratios I determine it should work in the latter also. It did.
I ende up with 37.5 grains of both powders under the Nos Custom Comp 69-gr HPBT, the bullet I had on hand to work with. All the way to the end R17 was 50-100 fps faster than 4350 and I reached 3350 fps. The topper was though, in windy, impromptu conditions over my truck hood with a padded rest I shot an 100 yard, 1.25" group with the R17 load with three going in .6".
Perhaps this should have gone into another forum but I lift a hand to SAS for this special run of rifles. Mine looks to be an accurate one and FWIW, here's an R17 load or at least a reference point for those 22-250's fellas.

From my 1-in-8" T3x:
Barnes 62-grain TSX over 32.2 grains IMR 3031 for 3367 FPS and 0.833" groups. Barnes 62-grain TSX over 37.2 grains H-380 for 3296 FPS and 0.639" groups. Barnes 62-grain TSX over 34.2 grains IMR 4064 for 3427 FPS 0.788" groups. Barnes 62-grain TSX over 37.5 grains W-760/H-414 for 3321 FPS 0.912" groups. Barnes 62-grain TSX over 35.5 grains Alliant Power Pro 2000-MR for 3298 FPS 0.531" groups. Barnes 62-grain TSX over 33.2 grains IMR 4320 for 3314 FPS and 0.609" groups. Barnes 62-grain TTSX over 36.5 grains CFE223 for 3363 FPS and 0.961" groups. Barnes 62-grain TTSX over 36.7 grains RL-17 for 3346 FPS and 0.683" groups. Barnes 62-grain TTSX over 33.0 grains VV N140 for 3246 FPS and 0.763" groups. Barnes 62-grain TTSX over 36.0 grains Alliant Power Pro 2000-MR for 3333 FPS and 0.698" groups. Barnes 62-grain TTSX over 36.0 grains IMR 4350 for 3197 FPS and 0.958" groups.
All loads used Winchester brass, Winchester large rifle primers, and fired in ten-shot strings over a Shooting Chrony Alpha Model chronograph. Group size is average of two five-shot groups.
All TSX loads were seated to an OAL of 2.400 inches.
All TTSX loads were seated to an OAL of 2.415 inches.
*NOTES:
Varget was also tested with a load of 34.0 grains in the 62-grain TSX combination for an average velocity of 3367 (identical velocity to IMR 3031), but the BEST THREE-SHOT group I could get in 20 rounds of testing was 1.200 inches; this mirrors the results obtained in Handloader #261 when their BEST group size was 1.13 inches. Varget has done well for me in other applications, but has been disappointing here.
Tested load of IMR 4350 nearly filled case.
Future test powders include AA 4350, AA 4064, and H4350.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

That's some pretty thorough testing.

Continue to be impressed with the Tikka LH 1-8 twist 22-250 upgraded the scope, bore sighted and forgot my good loads shot a .90" 10 shot group with 75 GR Hornady ELDM , mixed brass, CCI 200 primer, and 46.5 GR H 4350. And new scope was 1" off!
