Whittackers just got in a new ruger no 1s in 35 whelen that has one of the nicest stocks I have seen on a new number one. Just thought I would give everybody here a heads up in case they are looking for one, price was just shy of $1300. Forearm matched the buttstock also

I bought one about 5 months ago from Wholesale Hunter from another site, they were closing them out for 875!

Took me about a half a second to decide I needed it to go with my custom 1912 Steyr 98 Mauser in 35 Whelen

Didn't expect much for the wood but it is better than most of the newer No. 1's coming out.
It has perfect balance, even with scope, a Weaver Suoer Slam 1.5-5 Dangerous Game model.
The forearm is slimmer than my 450/400 Nitro #1 and is a joy to shoot.

Going back to the range today to sight it in with Nosler Trophy Grade 225 Accubonds.
It shoots my 250 grain Hornady RN hand loads used in my Mauser to about 1.5 MOA consistently.

It has some "lever sloppiness " mentioned in another post, I'm going to try the electrical tape trick.
The trigger pull from the factory is pretty crisp though. Makes calling the shoot easy.

I think I need No. 1's in all calibers as my bolt guns ( except for my 458 Lott!)
