Lets face it, birds dogs are so awesome they deserve their own thread.

I'd be happy to share, but that will have to wait until we have a little more space.

As one Field Trial Lab owner drunkenly put it in the bar afterwards - "Theshe dogs are jus too good for common people".

The Lab who puppy-chewed the binding off my copy is 40 years gone, but still loved.

I have more fun hunting birds with a dog than anything else but would love to go on a rabbit hunt with hounds some time.

Don't let this guy know he's not a real bird dog

There's nobody who get's to decide what a 'real bird dog' is but you, of course. Any dog that finds birds and helps you enjoy your hunt is a bird dog.
I used to hunt pheasants without a dog and did ok but the hunts were never as enjoyable as one with a good dog.

I never had any use for them.

Really do like these!!

I've been called a lot of things over the years, but Supercup is a first.


The older I get, the more I like my dog more than most people. I had some cancer issues a couple 3 yrs ago. After the surgery, my wife took to the spare room to help me sleep. The dog took over her spot in the bed ASAP and hasn't given it up since.

No English pointers? That’s all I ever had. Usually 8 to 10 for 25 years.

She just passed away last week at 13. We had some good times together.

Truly enjoyed the string and looking at all the pics. I had several good Brittanies over 30+ years, followed by a couple Weims, and the current jobholder, a Vizsla. Loved them all and suspect each of them taught me more than I taught them.
Dogs are good for the soul.

The only REAL bird-dogs!
