Mine became overly sensitive regarding the tip over cut loft valve.
Just bump it and it turned off.
I was able to bypass the cut off valve. Gotta be careful with it, but at least it works.
DF The newer ones in particular seem to be very sensitive. It doesn't take much bumping at all to shut it down. Then you have to wait & let it cool a bit before it will relight.

Take it apart, follow the wires. You can unplug the cut off valve, plug into where the cut off valve wire plugged in.
Gotta be careful with it as you’ve just disabled a safety device.
But if it won’t burn it’s useless.

I know many guys love them but not me. Mine never wanted to light, even more so when it was cold out. It didn't give off much heat for the propane it used. Went out if you sneezed or it something bumped it. It would go out if you hit it with a dead chub. It finally blew a nut and sprayed all the propane inside the shack, that was the end. Nicest thing it ever did. Any thing it would do, every so often you would screw on a 1 pound tank and the connecting proud would hit the plastic shoulder on the tank, ruining the tank. I don't miss mine. I have a Small sunflower from the 90s that is better in every way except for making more burn holes.

I used my Buddy Heater last week while camping in North Alabama. Temps down to 14F. Had zero issues firing it right up. I was using the one pound cylinders. I've found that it doesn't take much of a breeze to blow out the pilot light. well, the heater was inside my big Eureka Outfitter tent, so a breeze was not going to happen. lol

The warmer it is, the more vapor pressure you will have.
But, since propane boils @ -44*, at most using temps you should have sufficient propane in the gas phase.
Can you hear gas escaping when you open the valve? Does it light with a flame for ignition?

How old are your heaters?
Mines about 5 years old so I wonder if they have made them better yet... Toying with buying a new one.
Other than that, How was the show Mrs. Lincoln?
