Even though I hunt out of a camp, I've gotten into the habit of keeping a couple pair of thin disposable vinyl gloves in my pack.

When skinning in camp or even in food preparation there or at home, it is a simple matter to discard the disposable gloves and then shoot your pix, then put on another pair.

I buy the general purpose "vinyl" gloves at Harbor Freight,

I also really like the "Dura-Flock" gloves which I get off Amazon. They have a "flocking on the inside, which, should your hands be moist, make it a ton easier to put on......

Thank you sir!

And as a coda before I have to run out for a bit.

I also listen to music other than smooth jazz when I "skin"

Taking this post into 2018, let's keep it lively.

Buck woodsman 102 with two Canada Geese that are tonight's dinner. My twins, who are five, got a lesson in game cleaning and they loved it. Now they want a knife for their hunting expeditions.

I am not much on names or model numbers. If a knife appeals to me and I can figure out a way to afford it I grab it. The knife with the shield is my "BVWD boner". Rick calls that pattern a "lil dumplin". As you can see the other knife has a different blade profile and handle shape. I would imagine the steel is 154CM. The scales would be brown canvas micarta.

The lanyard is courtesy of Gies340

and as one can see, neither are virgins!

Nice picture! I have a Lil' Dumpling with green canvas/red liners. Love it, it processes game/fish and does a lot of kitchen duty for me. I once had a knife from Rocky like that little butcher knife pattern. Like a dummy I sold it. I'd like to get another like yours to replace it.

I have a number of his knives that he made before he took some time off.

Supposed to have two new ones coming soon.

will post em' up soon after they arrive.

Rocky can build a damned fine knife. Really like that far right knife...
