Today I tumbled 250 .44 SPL. brass and a load of rifle brass, I put the brass in the tumbler filled it with enough hot water to cover the brass and added a squirt of Dawn dishwashing detergent and 1/2 Tsp. of Lemi-shine. Ran the tumbler for 3 hrs. and had nice clean brass as a result and didn't have to fool with getting pins out of the cases or primer pockets. Granted I did not get the jewelry like luster like when using the pins but the brass was clean without any hassles.
