I had one of my Rugers like that 1 day waiting on a wily whitetail to come by. Unfortunately he did, but the reason the Ruger was in that position is that I was relieving myself. Hope you had better luck than that.

I have a .300 H&H No. 1S I bought new in 2012, made in 2011 according the the serial #. It is not a Boddington. I did own a .450 NE 3 1/4" Boddington though.

Started life as a 1B 30-06 red pad

Rechambered and new extractor to 300 H&H

A Mkt trigger, Gentry band and King reflector ramp & sight.

3 in .75 with Fed Prem Partitions (old nickle plated ammo)

Exceptional red pad wood.

Had the pleasure of meeting Saddlering today. Bought his #1S in 300 H&H plus some goodies. Had to sell my Win. XTR in 300 H&H a few years back. Missed the caliber. Hopefully I can pick up where he stopped, getting the load worked up and have this ready for 2018 MI deer season. Hope you guys don't mind if I take your advice on loads; I can use the help. When I get the rig set up I'll try a get a picture or two if I can figure out how to post them. This is a gun I've always wanted to have. Thank-you again John.
