I’ve fished billfish in Hawaii and Mexico. The Mexicans just throw er in neutral and make you work the fish in. Hawaii the captain stayed on the fish, making it easier. Old lady and I sat in the chair 45 minutes a piece in Mexico without laying eyes on one. I'd not pay for a charter on a 35' boat without a 1st mate,someone needs to be at the helm and someone needs to rigging lines,bait,and helping clients YMMV Anybody that thinks a charter without a first mate and doing all the stuff Dan mentioned themselves (and then some) is a good idea is just being a dumb phughk.
