I’m sorry, I’m sure she wasn’t homely.

Workout over.

35 minutes on the arm bike for cardio, cranked out 320 calories. Hamstring curls, quad machine, 3 kinds of leg lifts on the Roman chair, back extension machine, torsion machine, and some foam roller. Gonna take the dog for a ride on the scooter.

Just under 14 miles on mostly packed snow trails. Most all without MicroSpikes, for which my feet are happy.

that’s a pretty big day Ed smile

here’s how my day went- planned on an overnighter with the wife and Tiny E, drove by the end of the plowed road towards the trailhead, made it about a 1/4 mile and got hopelessly stuck! Two hours straight of shoveling and fighting to get chains on, managed to get back to the plowed turnaround. Strapped snowshoes on, hooked in the pulk and we headed for our destination. About a 1/2 mile shy of our planned camp, I noticed my wife looked really punk (she didn’t feel real well that morning). We decided it was best to call it a day and headed the 3.5 miles back to the truck. Maybe next weekend.

Mike,

Hope the wife feels better soon. That looks like a tough trip.

Another 10 miles today.
6 miles of some of the nastiest post-holing I have ever encountered with Gunr and Deb. Gunr, our almost 11 year old Yellow Lab is the most amazing dog ever. He has more heart than any creature or person I have ever known.
He was diagnosed with severe hip displasia at 6 months old and yet he managed fine until eight years when he had a bilateral FHO (the heads of the femur were essentially sawed off to eliminate the bone on bone contact). A lengthy recovery but he was like a new dog. Now almost 11, he also has a knee that give him some trouble but on this misery trek today he just kept going. At one point when the drifted snow was so tough Deb suggested rigging a sling under his belly to help support him. I could hardly keep up with him with this assistance. He would not stop on his own. We stopped several times and made him lay down for a couple minutes to recover.
We got home, gave him some meds and yet as I grabbed Onyx's harness to take him up the mountain. Gunr got right up and with his tail wagging, he wanted to go again.
Onyx and my 4 miles was a good climb but with decent conditions

I actually saw some mud as well. Thought about googling it to see if I remembered correctly. It warmed enough today that I was able to chop out the ice around my BBQ where the paver stones had absorbed some heat from the sun. The ice I chopped out measured 6.5" thick.

Mixed bag of HIIT type work yesterday. Keeps things interesting and really makes my heart pound. Currently procrastinating my burpee/pull-up's work out for today.

New personal best for me today. Two and one-quarter miles with the dog on the knee scooter. Actually I think it's a state record too. Which is nothing to sneeze at, knee scooter is highly competitive here. Well over 150 feet of elevation gain.

Nice! Haha. I bet that's hard as [bleep].

Cyn is finally able to start working out lightly again so we walked about 4 miles today. We're plotting a spring break camp/pack trip so she's gotta get moving again. That dang flu really nuked her; after the classic flu symptoms had subsided- I mean after a couple WEEKS of being seriously ill with the flu- some sort of weird neck pain issue came up, which her doctor and google agree was a common holdover with this flu. THAT shut her down for another couple weeks; she could go to work but that was about it. Anyway. Almost enough to make me consider a shot next year.

Gym today, 40 minutes/350 calories on the arm bike, hamstring curls, quad machine, leg press machine for the good leg only, back extension machine, and a jury-rigged leg press for the bad leg, put a padded cuff around the lower thigh, hooked to a cable machine and did leg presses, no weight on the ankle. Better than nothing.

challenging outing for Tiny E and I; went up a ridge I thought had a packed trail- turns out it was elk, so lots and lots of post holing. Add to the fact it was about 1000’ gain, made for a tough- about 4 miles
