Well, now that you mention it, she's a 6-foot tall buxom blond who makes her spandex outfit look like it was custom made. Probably 22 or 23. I think she wanted to work my posterior chain just so she could ogle my glutes. She stood behind me the whole time saying "make it,....er,.. I mean feel the burrrrrrnnnn!!!" Which was OK and everything but here's my question--does a trainer really have to keep her hands on you to "make sure the muscles are firing properly?"

She must be up to date on the most current trainer principles as it applies to older athletes. They work on the molecular level since the silver sneaker age group requires extra stimulation to achieve muscle hypertrophy.

"Silver sneaker?" That aptly describes me when I'm up on the mountain hunting, but not in the gym. You sly septagenarian, you.

Yeah- now we’re talking! I felt a disturbance in the force, but all is well now laugh

4 mile run for Tiny E and I this evening, started at sultry 77 degrees- started to rain and ended at a pleasant 67 degrees

Why do I hear that in a Mr. Burns voice from the Simpson's?

Don't usually 'workout', either too stupid or young yet 😋... Did 16 k in the mountains yesterday, mainly off trail, with a friend and 24HCF member. Carrying ~30 pound pack and rifle... Hard to move quickly today. LOL.

Work schedule has me getting up around 4:30am, heading down into my basement to knock out as many burpees I can in thirty minutes. Then I cool off for a few minutes, take a cold shower, and head off to work. When I get home I wip out as many kettle bell swings as I can in twenty minutes, cool down with another cold shower, watch a bit of T.V until I start falling asleep, go to bed and start it all over again. While taking a couple of cold showers a day isn't fun, I sure feel better after I take them. Really try to push myself with my as many reps as possible routines. I'd say it allows me to get in almost the amount of physical activity as MTWarden grand kids get when they go on hikes with Grandpa!

A few notes about the five zones containing the most centurions:

They do not exercise, they live

They do not eat sweets except Sunday

They do not talk about health, diet, or longevity

They have friends and routine sex

They eat no processed food

This info is fact based and you can read about it in the “Blue Zones”

JohnnyLoco, personally I've never run into a centurion on a backpack hunt. What would an officer from the Roman Army be doing over here anyway?

If you meant centenarians, that's a whole different proposition. But come to think of it, I've never run into any of those up there either.

So I continue to exercise, and talk about heath and diet. Consulted with a trainer today, or rather, worked out with one as it were. Good workout, had me doing a lot of stuff I'd never do on my own like lunges and step-ups. Making progress towards the goal of visiting snowy mountaineer's ideal location with the best views, fewest people, and most elk. I added that last part, "most elk." Maybe someone can add on.
