Looks like Leupold has introduced the replacement for the VX-2. At first blush the only thing I see is a different turret and turret housing, with a different magnification ring.

Also appears they have dropped the VX-1 series.

The turret housing shape changed along with the knobs, the cap and the power ring...big deal.

Need to strap a Leupold Freedom scope on a Nosler Patriot rifle, firing American Whitetail ammo.

Slight change in magnification specs (e.g. the 2-7X33 used to max out at 6.60X, now they list it as 7X). The worst feature is a reduction in mounting space for the scope rings from 5.2" to 4.81" in the 2-7X33.

New scope....... 😃😃😃 just what leupold needs, did they beef up the erector and springs.....wonder if it can adjust per stated amount and hold a zero........ got a lifetime warranty which will be needed more than likely........ just what I would want,,,,,,, a 1st production run of a newly "designed" leupold scope🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Freedom. The reticle is free to move wherever it wants.

Looks like they s h it canned the fast focus ocular of the vx2 entirely and basically did some cosmetic changes to the vx1 lineup and put on a wider gold ring for fanboy appeal and are charging more money for a cosmetically redesigned vx1 lineup marketed as something new. Pathetic................ hey leupold stronger parts in your scopes guts are what customers want, something that tracks as advertised and holds zero, ya frigging dips h i ts........ i bet the lean sigma six good idea fairys incorporated far more vx1 components and assembly line steps into this scope than vx2 components and assembly line steps (cause they sure as f u ck didnt tool up a new line to make these scopes and s h i t can the vx1 and vx2 lines and tools)......that wide gold ring has got to make it better. 😃😃😃 f u c k ing bean counter streamlined new lineup with a greater profit margin and that wide gold ring will sell it... they are brilliant... everyone with a vx1 and vx2 will have to get this scope. Haha haha!!!!

When they adjust like theyr'e supposed to, I'll give them another shot.

It's doubtful Leupold downgraded the VX-2 glass and coatings. The different erector/turret housing might mean a different erector in there. Only time will tell..........

If they make them durable I will look at them, like said above time will tell...............

That's one ugly azz scope. Those turrets look cheesy

My hope is that the squared-off erector housing isn't just for show, but is necessary because of increases in the size and strength of the erector assembly.
