I had a couple of these build moisture on the barrels and start to rust, 1 high grade in 45lc and 1 44-40, not bad but definitely not good. I’d like to have them reblued, good recommended smith and general price estimates to have it done so I can set some cash aside. Busy with work and let them get neglected, need get them cleaned up and want to make sure it’s done right. Thanks

Goggle up either Greystone or Greystoke bluing in Wyoming. ( Company name eludes me) They likely will match the factory bluing.

I would think about it a bit more before you re blue them. Very difficult to keep the lines sharp and edges like the factory . Even small rust leaves pits. Rust is like iceberge's with most of it below the surface. Lot of polishing. There a lot of parts in any lever action and a lot of work involved in stripping everything for prep in bluing.

Might be better to clean the rust with 0000 steel wool and Hopes and live with the pits. re bluing will reduce the value more than slight rust.

My son has a bluing business so have some experience with this.
