I am about three weeks out according to Bat Machine for delivery of an SV LH action. I will receive it through my FFL and send it along to Canyon Creek custom stocks...a Bartlein .224 1-13.0 twist #13 Rem varmint contour barrel is already there along with blank I picked out and paid for awhile back. I am at least a season away form completion but is should be a beauty. I will post pictures when done.

I love the .222 rem. One of my MOST accurate firearms that I own. Keep us updated on the build.

If I were to build a .224" for accuracy, I'd build a .22PPC.
Shoot straight, shoot often, but by all means, use enough gun!

OSU_Sig and Owl I will do that, the blank I picked out cost more than some rifles I've purchased but it's AAA with feather and should really compliment the build...Also pick up a Schmidt and Bender Varmint for optics and will most likely look at Tally one piece rings or a Bat Machine set up. You are spot on GeorgeS...I wanted an old school traditional .222 for this build but a great reason to build another  !

If they don't make it in 222 anymore do as was said above and buy a 223 and re-shank it's barrel by setting it back and simply chamber to 222.
Fast easy and pretty cheap to do.
I have done that for a few men who wanted 221 Fireballs. Would be just as easy to do for a conversion to 222.

BobMt: I have always LOVED the 222 Remington cartridge and most all Rifles made for it.
One I have always craved is an early production offering from Ruger in their #1-B Model.
Seen a couple (2!) but not made a deal on one as yet.
I am excited about your "project Rifle" - I hope it shoots well for you.
I currently own and shoot 6 Varmint type Rifles in caliber 222 Remington - each and every one of them is notably accurate!
Keep us posted on your progress with your "deuce" (222 Remington).
