The wrap is plastic and 30" wide. Machine wraps until a minimum of 4 layers. Flat ends end up with more.
And I have a spear for the tractor now.

Interesting pictures. Don't see round bales like that around here anymore. Apparently they have fallen out of favor, folks said the cattle we not getting a square meal! 😁

Found this one on my phone. That reminds me of my high school days. We would take hay out of a farmer's field and stack it in the barn for .25 cents a bale. Kept us in beer money. Kept us in shape too...
