Hawke makes great optics. Their major flaw is they do not market/advertise/promote their products which leaves most folks in the dark to their offerings. They are fairly well known in the air-gun field but that's really about it. Their Endurance Binoculars were a big seller for us this past Christmas season.
In it's price category their Endurance ED 10x42 - Green #36207 is a great value in a quality binocular

Mine's going on my CZ Grendel, which currently wears an Mark AR Mod1 1-4. A little more magnification will be appreciated on that one, as well as covered turrets. Hard to tell for certain without mounting it, but ther ER is clearly long and the eyebox seems good. I ran the turrets today and the clicks are very positive. A bit over 10 full rotations from one end to the other.

I'd "risk" another C note and buy a second one, but just don't have anything to put it on (and NO plans to add to the pile), and have a couple spares already.

Any idea if this would hold up to recoil from a 45/70? I recently purchased an 1895G and am considering this scope for that application.

It shouldn't be an issue at all
