I say shut it down.

For as long as it takes.
The things that need taking care of will get done it's just that all of that other crap will get nowhere.

The Federal Government declared the beach had to be closed because of the government shutdown. There's only one or two park rangers who oversee it,..and there's really not much to oversee. I've been out there several times and I've yet to see one.

Anyway,..the Park Rangers didn't feel any particular need to shut down access to the beach.

They did the same thing with the islands on Gulf Islands National Seashore. BUT, the rangers were essential and were on duty.

As soon as the clock strikes "shutdown", have the federal marshals & Border Patrol start rounding up the 800 thousand DACA children and start deporting them on a massive scale!

No compromise.

You think it will happen?

GOP owns the House, Senate, and the White House. A shutdown is entirely in their hands, unlike previous shutdowns.

I was kicked off federal land duck hunting back in the ‘90’s. I’ll be hunting the same spot next weekend and won’t be leaving this time.

Obama had some boat launches shut down on the Mississippi River the last time. What a jack ass. . There is noone at the launches collecting money ore anything. They barricaded off the launch ,so it cost more to shut it down than to do nothing.

Were the other shutdowns the dems fault?

Laffin.....they stay on vacation. My brother used to sell software to government agencies and he was astounded at how little they actually work. This is the case in the DC area, according to him.

I work at a company that does IT work for the gov't. I'm surprised at some of the positions we do. They outsource software engineers, technicians, and...even computer call center employees. I don't know what the IT departments in the gov't actually do because from where I see, they give it all to contractors anyway.

Some federal employees deemed essential will be required to work w/o pay, or more accurately, to be paid later.

And some don't work at all and get paid later anyway.

Personally, I'd like the see the government "shut down" for like a year just so that people see how useless some entire agencies really are.
