A good friend recently bought a 6.5 Rem Mag and is looking for a good load and bullet combination for whitetail hunting here in Pennsylvania. The gun is a Remington 700 with a 22 inch barrel. Any information on successful loads is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had good success with Nosler 120 grain Ballistic Tips on deer with mine. I haven't loaded for mine in a number of years, don't remember charge weight but remember loading H4831.

For targets I load 120gr Nosler Bal tips and 59.0gr of RL-22 over a Fed 210 primer. For hunting I use same load and a 125gr Partition I use these loads in both a M700 and M600
These loads have given me sub moa groups and never failed to bring meat home Good luck and have fun

Mine likes Sierra 120 pro hunter with h4831. It's a 673 Remington. I shot a 10 shot group at 300 yards just to see how much group would vary with a hot barrel. This was shot fast and it was under 2 inches. I like this gun and calibre. Ed k
