Is the 1894 action strong enough for the 454 Casull? If so, would rechambering the barrel be the only modification needed from a 45LC rifle to shoot the 454? Just asking...

Marlin says No. SAAMI says No. I have never seen anything written anywhere to say otherwise.

I think that .45 Colt +P is your limit.

It would be a particularly ugly rifle to blow up. Once that external bolt let go, you could be the recipient of some very nasty shrapnel.

Well with all the talk about how strong the 336 -- 30-30 action is and converting it into other calibers(307/356) that it wasn't intended for, I just thought it would apply to other Marlin actions and I was checking to see if anyone has already tried this. Looks like I need to purchase a rifle made for this caliber.... Thanks.

I've read that NavyArms is chambering their 92 repro in 454. Might want to check them out.
I know I'm sure happy with my NavyArms 92 in .45 Colt.
