Anybody shooting the .284 110 grain TTSX in their 7mm cartridges?

If so how are they shooting??

I have been also curious how that would perform, should be awesome combo.

FAST I bet. showing 3600 possible with the 280 AI and 7mm Mag.

I'd be interested to see field reports. I know they don't blow up, but when speeds get that high, they really start tearing things up if bone or heavier muscles get hit. I noticed a difference just between the 120 and 140 grain versions.

I load them for my dad and a buddy, both for 20" M7 carbines. We're making 3,200fps with a book load of RL15, although I cannot remember the charge. It's tough on deer and hogs at point/shoot ranges when zeroed 2" high at 100yds. Flat to 300 as well. I need to try the load in a 20" 7mm-08 of mine, as it's proven picky with 120's.

i shoot the 110TTSX in a T/C 7x30waters with 24" barrel...only starting them at about 2850fps, at woods ranges they have worked well for me on deer & hogs.

I worked with the 120 and the 110, both, in a .280 AI. I settled on the 120 because it was more accurate in my rifle, and never tried to wring out max velo because the difference in groups between the bullets was apparent through every load so I stopped the 110 experiment. I did choose the .270 110 for a .270 Win, though, and love it. Won't be any difference on game. If it shoots in your rifle, stock up and enjoy.

In my 26 inch barrelled 7mm Remington I get 3621fps using 70gn of 760 over a Fed 215 primer. Accuracy is MOA
In my 22 inch barrelled 280A1, I get 3353fps using 63gn H414 (Same powder as 760 but labelled and lot difference) over a WLR primer. This load shoots a hair under .5MOA where a grain less at 62 grains hovered around the inch mark. Additional info that may be relevant is that my Ackley is a Model 70 XTR barrel with the faster 8.75" twist. (Circa 1981)

In my SC 7x57 Super Grade I get 3080fps using 54gn of H 414 and the Fed 210 primer.

Haven't used this bullet on game but did some culling in the early 90's using the 100gn X bullet in the .270 at 3500fps. Taught me a lot about wrong information relating to when a bullet begins to expand as well as the valueless hypothesis, sectional density is when applied to expanding bullets.

I can tell you as fact from experience in the field a 7mm 120gr Barnes TTSX will take elk cleanly , giving complete penetration. A friend takes elk regularly with his 7-08 & the 120gr. The 110 gr TTSX should take mature deer easily. Me & mine take elk every year with the 260 Rem & the 120gr Barnes TSX with complete penetration. Have never recovered one from an elk. We also take mature muley bucks with the 260 Rem using the Barnes 100gr TTSX. Complete penetration. Use the 7mm 110gr TTSX with complete confidence on deer. These bullets perform out of all proportion to their weight. . For get every thing you know about lead core bullets. . The Nosler partition is a good bullet but the homogeneous copper bullets like the Barnes TSX&TTSX/ Hornady GMX fat out penetrate the Nosler. Try for yourself & see the difference. Remember Barnes says to seat these bullets .050 off the lands to start. Some where between .030 & .070 off the lands you will find the sweet spot for your rifle's best accuracy.
