I bought my M-19, 4” and “3 T’s” in about ‘78 for $225 at a local shop. With 28 year old eyes, at 25 yards five shots in 1 1/2” weren’t unusual. I can’t quite do that with more “mature” eyes anymore. 😊

I wish I would have bought every one I saw about 25 years ago. It seemed nobody wanted them then, but in the last few years, they have gone through the roof!

Good point. Mine was mint and I think I gave under $300 for it at a gunshop in the mid 90's. I want to say $250 but I really don't remember. I know I was always cash strapped then so I didn't make a habit out of paying $300 or more for guns.

What kind of prices are you seeing them go for?

In the $600-$750 range, with original box, which seems reasonable given what I saw asking prices at a year or so ago.

I have been shooting a 19 since the 70's. some years ago i managed to find new in the box with original bill of sales from the 70's a 2inch, 4inch, and six inch. the 4 and 6 still haven't been shot. Probably never will by me, but fun to look at.
will make a nice gift for the next generation.
my blued 19 4inch i have put thousands of lead bullets through it, maybe a box at most of magnums in its whole life.
weight, balance, and butter smooth trigger it's always gonna be at the top of the heap.

When you say 2” do you mean 2.5”? Did they make a 2”?

Any k frame is worth having.

I have a few times brought 19s and 66s along with an ammo can or two of 158 38 specials to the Armijo Springs get together.

They are a great way to entertain the ladies, kids , and of course guys.

The 3" version is the shizzle!! I found one NIB at the big Tulsa show last year. Glanced at the price tag that looked like $800, and I thought what the heck. The only other 3" version at the show looked like it had been dragged behind a pickup for about 50 mikes, and that idiot wanted $900 bucks. So I started counting out a stack of Big Ben's, which got the dealers attention. I said I'll take it and layed out $800 on his table. He picked it up than handed it back to me, and said it's $1800, not $800. he turned over the price tag and there was a dollar sign $1 on the other side. I quietly stuffed the cash back in my pocket and walked away without saying a word to the dealer.

Idiots abound at the Tulsa Show every year, and the prices are really getting friggin ridiculous. Same dealer had several NIB Pythons marked at $4K. At the end of the show, I noticed the dealer still had the 3" Model 19 and all of his Colt Pythons, too.

probably a stupid question, but i don't know the answer. Were the barrels the same for a model 19 .357mag and say a 38special k frame?
reason for asking number of years ago i bought some new barrels at a reasonable price and just set them aside. now i am wondering if they would would fit on a 19 using magnum rounds?

If the cylinder length was the same, I'd guess it would work. But not sure.

Received a 6" Model 66-2 today. Shown here with a 686 and a 66-4 2-1/2". Lovin' the 6" K-Frame.

+1 -- they shoot great (at least the couple that I've had did).

I had this one for a really long time. I think I originally got it in the middle 70's. I sold it a time or two, but always bought it back. To me some things are just too good to keep so I gave it to my son when he reached a point in his life that I thought he would appreciate it.

Love the grips and the holster on that 19. Who made the holster?

I made the holster, my brother made the grips.
