Absolutely Not. 70 is the new 30 except w/ pain and little short term memory. My elderly wife and I hiked just over 7 miles today in the Egan Range of central Nv. w/ gain/loss of more than 4000' feet of vertical. We just returned to our motel and are easing the pain w/ gin prior to heading out later for Mexican food.

Life is good if you don't weaken.....and are very, very fortunate.

Sometimes it is unavoidable

While I am deteriorating in the physical realm, I am an ardent follower of Peter Pan in that I never intend to grow up in terms of behavior. ( I realize that this is rather hard to believe for those who follow the serious nature of most of my posts, but there it is.)

Well, I'm sitting here chuckling at the Michelle Obama portrait thread. You tell me.

No. I'm 22 but act older. Anal record keeping and saving like my grandparents, married (at 18), and saving for a down payment on a land loan currently. Never liked parties, prefer to read (have a library of 500+ centered around WWII, Civil War, Texas history), coin collector, and I wear boots and a hat daily. I'm an old fart already.

If I hang on to may child like ways just a little longer I can make it to my second childhood.

Of course I do. I got no time for a bunch of damn silliness in my life.

2 years ago, my 63rd birthday is 3 weeks away, our annual 3 day party for opening day of dove season, next to last man standing, 3AM, singing Karaoke, dancing & trying to act like Prince or some other fool on stage. Took the better part of a year for my knee too heal. After that I decided to start acting, or at least consider my age. Did better last year, toned it down, Texas Flood by Stevie Ray was my best effort. Only took about a week to heal & get re-hydrated.

Hangovers suck more the older I get!!!

Depends on alcohol intake.

I had to give up alcohol. Hangovers were one reason. Beyond that I really didn't need any help acting stupid.

I envy you guys that still have the physical ability to whatever you want. I'm not that far off but I'm at a point if I want to ..say...hike up the side of a mountain, I have to get in shape for it, and then I'll be sore for 4 days afterwards.

Oh I still do the same stuff. I just stink at it now.

Backpack hunt in the Rocky Mtns. Hopefully climb a 14-er or two this summer. See live music at Red Rocks amphitheater. Drink one too many beers, occasionally. Pull stupid pranks on my sons. I guess the list goes on.

I have to get old. But they can't make me grow up !
