I had an early thread about this, and I don't mean to be redundant,
Grabbed a few boxes of the 178's,
Loading for .300wsm and maybe even the '06,
Yes I know each gun is different, but,
Who's loading this bullet?
Powders on hand are H4350 and IMR4350.
Any particulars or personalities seen with this bullet?
Closer to the lands or further away?
Any other powder that might make more sense?
Hodgdon's shows 62-66 grains with the H4350, 65 grains with 165's is what works best with the .300,
that tell us anything?
TIA.

64.0 H4350 / 180 has worked in the 6 or 7 300 WSM's I've had.
Seat .020" off.
Play with seating depth if needed.
Try standard vs. magnum primers.
If you want more speed, 64.5 RL17 will get you another 50 fps.
That's about all that's needed to know about the 300 WSM... one of the easiest rounds to load for, ever.

Timely question, I just received a new 300wsm from Whittaker's. I had a 300wsm previously and it liked 180gr Partitions (Thanks Brad) with H4350.
I still have some of the Partitions as well as 155gr Scenars, 168gr TTSX;s, 165gr Interbonds that I will try. But , I want to try the ELD offerings due to the performance I'm getting out of the 143ELD-X in my Creedmoor.
Hopefully someone here has some experience to share.

Brad, seems reasonable.
With my .300wsm, best results are about 65/65.3 grains of H4350 with most 165's I've tried, .010 off.

GK My brother, I had mediocre results with the 155 Scenars, decent groups with 165 TSX and have settled on 165 Sierra Game kings for all around purpose, mainly range/play time and cost being factors. 65 grains about .010 off. H4350 Don't know that I've really witnessed any great changes in any small change I've made with any load with the .300wsm.

I've been getting exceptional accuracy with 178's in my 308 and 30-06. I no longer own it, but did try some in a 300 WSM. I got better results with the 200 gr ELD-X in the 300.
