I have used Aluma-Hyde from Brownells with good success in the past. I wanted to order more, but they are back ordered from a couple more months according to the gal on the phone.
Any other similar products on the market? I have see propeller paint for airplanes, but the only colors are gray and black that I can find. There are some other tan type colors in appliance paints, but they are gloss.
Thanks.

Birchwood Casey markets an aluminum black. Usually in the display in the gun section of your sporting goods store.

The Birchwood Casey is not paint . It is a chemical conversion coating similar to cold blue and not a very good one at that.

I haven't used it on a firearm, but I've used the VHT Epoxy paint that is on Amazon. I had to use the white to paint a carbon fiber pressure vessel for the military that didn't want an all black tank heating up on tarmac. The white works pretty well. I would guess the other colors would do the same. They claim it is good up to 250F. Not sure what color you want, but here's a link to the black: https://www.amazon.com/VHT-SP650-Gl...mp;psc=1&refRID=RACR68QXZV6XFY51406J

It seems to work really well.
