Yeah, we are retarded alright...

A state couldn't infringe on any 2nd Amendment rights could they?

Just ask Connecticut, Massachusetts, NY, and California residents. Just to name a few.

Exactly right. You beat me to it.

As much as I dislike some of things the NRA does, I appreciate so much of what they do that I have become a Life member and will upgrade this year to infuse more money into their coffers. They are our best chance of preserving our 2A Nation wide. That said...my biggest concern is not that certain states are going to pass very restrictive gun laws, because we all know that they will. They will stay within the framework of the 2A, but they will greatly restrict those rights for citizens of those states. But more importantly, those states will affect the rest of us traveling through those states. For example, what if those states restrict carrying game through their states without a license from that state. Or maybe, they state that while you may carry a firearm in their state, you must register that firearm before traveling through the state. There is nothing in the 2A that would restrict that requirement. We would still be allowed to possess a gun, we would just have to pay the taxes, if you will, to travel through their state. The USSC has already stated that the Federal Government and individual States have the right of Taxation. This is going to be a very interesting next few years.

State restrictions like that are unconstitutional as hell.

"...Shall Not Be Infringed." Means just that.

The next conflict is here, whether we recognize it or not.

Bolt action 30-06 oh you mean that high powered snipers rifle. That is what it will become when they get around to banning it. I hear comments from more than a few shooters that are foolish enough to believe their type firearm will never be on the list. Sad to see so many gullible people in our ranks.

Yes, that was my point. It is almost useless to use facts on those folks.

I have believed for a very long time that we were only one more mass shooting away from seeing some form of serious gun control being made law. To be honest, I really thought it would have already happened. It's one thing for a mass murderer to shoot adults at a queer nightclub, or a concert, but when a school is target, and kids are killed, it gets people's attention.

I fully expected Obama to push hard for something after the Sandy Hook shooting, and for something to be passed as a result. If any of you honestly believe that our Second Amendment rights will stand the test of time, and Americans will have the right to own firearms till the end of time.......think again, because sooner or later, this country will pass some very serious gun control regulations. It's inevitable, just like death and taxes are. It may be many years down the road, or it may be very soon, who knows. But, this I do know, as a member of the older generation, I see things much, much different than does the younger group. They have been fed a pack of lies by the news media, Hollywood, and the Democrats/Socialists/Liberals all of their life, and they do not have the same beliefs and values as us older people do.

Just as we would fight an attempt to hand over our guns, most of them wouldn't even have one to hand over.

I have a bad feeling about this present push; I have a feeling this one will be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back.

I guess some state representatives from Ohio have already began to push for a "assault weapon" ban here. From what I have read, Kasich is already saying he's on board.

...there's some dark days ahead for all of us I fear.

there's trends afoot that are definitely difficult to deal with. kids now a days don't get to stand in the back yard and shoot black walnuts out of the tops of the trees. not even close to such is now available.

we've not changed, but the environment in which we find ourselves certainly have. to put it a bit more directly, it's a numbers game, and perhaps always has been.

as far as the nra goes, they've done some good, no doubt. probably employ some of the best minds in the business, as does s&w, ruger, remington, etc. etc.

what we've got now is the need to "justify" our existence if you know what of i speak. look at those high school kids turning out for they consider a worthy cause/effort/issue across the country.

Apparently Minnesota legislators are gearing up for a gun control push because I've been getting several emails from the NRA.

If you're in a state that is considering more gun control, use the link below from the NRA to email your state congressman and senator. Here's your opportunity to actually do something.

You don’t see it here in this tiny little corner of the American gun owning community everyday?
