I just saw this on the Ruger website. I love the walnut/stainless combo and I love the 260 Rem. I'd order one for certain if it came with a 20" barrel. I'm not a huge fan of the 18.5" barrel. But a really beautiful rifle from what I see. I'm going to have to think about this some more. Chances are I'll end up ordering one.

Lipsey's is distributing this model.

How long has Ruger been offering this? I'm surprised I haven't seen it until today.

If they ever make a No. 1 A in 260 Rem I'll be forced to buy one. Perfect gun for a lefty wink

You missed the K1-A Swede, mine was a stunner, and shot 1.1" at 200 yds out the box.......

For intended purposes, the 77 shorty MS profile bolt, is as intended, for function in the field.

It is a limited run Lipsey's special, model 47185.

I agree with you on the 20" barrel, as I think that it would balance better. I think that the long action 77 RSIs balance better than the short action rifles even though both share the 18.5" barrel length.

I've had a 77 RSI in 260 for years, a rebore tang safety 243, not a bad stalking rifle.

EDIT: IIRC, Lipsey's has have Ruger make limited run 77 RSIs in the stainless/walnut format in 250 Savage, 257 Roberts, 260, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7x57, and 275 Rigby.

Yup ..... Ruger does need to make it 20" with a slimmer forend for better proportions. Looks short and chubby like BigStick.

Shoulda been a Creedmoor....

Then it’d be a 6.5 Man-licker Mannlicher....

They already did that. I wasn't aware of it, as I surely would have purchased a 77RSI in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Look on GB, some portion of the production run of 250(?) are still out there if you want to pay $1K.

That seems like a disparagingly disrespectful way to speak about a nice rifle.

Just got one last week as LGS had two.....they tried to sell me one in 275 Rigby and 6.5 Creedmoor. Told them I’d buy one if they came out in the 6.5 Creedmoor V2 (i.e. 260 Remington - with the Swede V1 of the Creedmoor 😄). So when it came in I had to put my money where my mouth is even though the last thing I need is another big game rifle😄. Shot it a few days ago with some Nosler factory ammo and shot some 1.25-1.5” 3-shot groups....we will see when the weather gets a little better what some handloads will do. Now I have three of my favorite cartridges in this model - the .260, .250 and .257 - I obviously like the set up although I too agree that a 20” barrel would be a better overall.

Upon further consideration, I agree with you. I apologize to the rifle and anyone who owns one. smile

Well, ya didn't hurt my feelings and I refuse to buy rifles with a barrel I think is to short. I looked at a little Kimber 6.5 Creedmoor awhile back. I think it had a 16" barrel, all I could think was, why give up all that "free velocity" a few more inches of barrel would of provided. I don't get it, but some one else might.

I on;y worry about barrel length in relation to balance. I have rifles with 20-26" barrels, and each serves well and balances to my liking. That .260 looks good, but I'd have to handle it to see if I liked it.

I have a couple of rifles with a 20 inch barrel (.250 Sav and .308). I won't go shorter than that though. I wouldn't mind one of those full wood stocked Rugers but not with the 18.5 inch barrels.
