Arguably the most famous rifle of the Old West, Winchester's first centerfire arm was manufactured from 1873-1919, with more than 541,000 turned out before 1900. A frontier favorite since its debut, this lever-action rifle was produced in a number of variations from short Trapper models and carbines to short and extra-long barreled rifles. A few short years after the 1873 rifle was introduced it was often teamed with the famed 1873 Peacemaker and other sixguns that had been chambered for the '73's .44-40 (.44WCF), .38-40 (.38 WCF), and .32-20 (.32 WCF) ammunition. The premier choice of the post-1874 Texas Rangers, this slab-sided saddle rifle was also favored by such well-known Westerners as Pat Garrett, William F. Cody, Montana Rancher Granville Stuart, and outlaws Butch Cassidy, Belle Starr and Billy the Kid. Cimarron offers more variations than any other company, from plain to fully engraved with hand-checkered pistol-gripped stocks and in barrel lengths that run from a short 16 inches to a full 30 inches long. Calibers offered are .32-20,38 Special/.357 Magnum, .44 Special, .44 Magnum, .44-40, and .45 Colt. Cimarron's '73s come in Standard Blue, Charcoal Blue, or Original Finish, and with straight walnut stocks or collector quality, hand-checkered deluxe models with the pistol grip stock. What sets this sixgun apart from other single actions are the wide square-notch rear sight and wide constant width front sight, along with slim checkered grips for a better and firmer hand fit, and an action tuned in the U.S. by Cimarron's skilled gunsmiths. This fine tuning incorporates Cimarron's made in USA competition hammer and trigger/bolt springs that are lighter, smoother and permit a crisp, no-creep trigger pull, and improved internal parts to enhance reliability. Each Evil Roy six-shooter wears his SASS signature, roll engraved on the barrel. Available in Standard Blue or Stainless Steel, Evil Roy competition single actions are offered in 4 3/4 and 5 1/2 -inch barrels, in a variety of popular Cowboy Action Shooters' chamberings. Percussion firearms can be ordered directly from our website. Can I use _____ ammunition in my Cimarron Firearm? We recommend that you shoot only standard over the counter ammunition that meet SAMMI specifications, http://www.saami.org/. Shooting any ammo like +P or reloads will void the warranty on the gun. Cimarron Firearms does not have any plans to make any guns that shoot +P ammunition. What makes Cimarron Firearms different as an importer? Cimarron Firearms worked closely with Uberti in the 80s to completely change the look and feel of the replica firearms you see offered by many companies today. Do I have to put money down to put something on backorder? With the exception of customized guns, your firearms dealer can place something on backorder with no money down. Keeping up with demand is one of the biggest challenges Cimarron faces. The factories we work with simply cannot keep up with the demand for our firearms. If you (the customer) are interested in something, have your local dealer call us or send us an email, and we will get you placed in the queue for that item.
