I like it. Any idea what it weighed without the scope?

22-250AI Hart Rem magnum contour 8 twist, 22" McMillan compact in Rhino camo pattern ADL Triggertech trigger Holland .250 lug SWFA 10X Very cool! I've been conjuring a very similar non-ai 22-250. The tube looks a wee chubbier than a Rem Mag contour - likely the compact stock creating that illusion?

I didn't weight it. I wasn't trying for a flyweight rifle this time. It balances great, just slightly muzzle heavy. If I knocked an inch off it would probably be perfect with a balance point right behind the front screw.
Skane, I agree.it looks chunky in that stock. I thought I had ordered a Classic but when it showed up I had a compact.

I think it'll work (and looks) just fine. That's the same contour I want to go with and thinking 23"-ish on mine so perhaps I'll end up having flutes cut.

my 7mm-08 is a Bartlein #2, so close to the magnum contour and its in a compact also. I had it fluted, deep, and cut to 21" The balance is really good on that one.

Please God, give me some good tags this year....

Every gun you seem to post is a beauty, this one is no different. That 7mm-08 is really nice too.

358, not jerking your chain, but what do you use the .22-250 for in Alaska??? One of my favorite calibers both std and the AI, but not a fast twist fan...

Jesse Jaymes that is a compact in Woodland Spectre color Bartlein wouldn't flute the barrel so I had Ryan at Diablo do it.
Gerry35 Thanks for the compliment.
WyoCoyoteHunter I'll use it for Wolf, Coyote's mainly, but deer and Caribou might also get their turn. I have it throated for 75 gr A-max's, but I'll work up loads for 62 gr TSX's also.

Great looking rifle!
Did you have a reamer made specific to 75gr Amax or did you use a normal AI reamer and then throat reamer?
I literally dropped off all the pieces for my "Southpaw Sendero" at the gunsmith this weekend-- 22-250AI built to look like the old R700 VS.

The Smith had a reamer on hand that he used. It's one he's used for his own AI running 75A-Max's and promised it would be a hammer. So far I'm really happy. Have only been forming brass so far, but it looks promising.
The best part of this build is that it was 16 days from the time I dropped the parts in the mail until it was back in my hands.
