I put a lot of rounds through it after mostly quail, dove, duck, and jack rabbits. After a few years, it started dropping some to most of the shells from the magazine when the pump was operated. Local talent was not up to a repair, so I traded it off. Later, I found out that the factory could easily fix it.

I still have a soft spot for 37s, and am considering a new 28 ga.

Yep, not a hard fix.

I have a new 28 ga. from the Ohio factory. Nice gun.

Action not as slick as my first year 20 ga., but after a few lifetimes, it should be as slick.

Current Ithaca production is very well done. Here's my 28 ga. Stock has a rather odd shape, but handles well.

I am prejudiced, but IMHO the Ithaca M37 is the best pump shotgun ever made.

You're not by yourself in that position.

It is a great one, light, handy and tough.

I toyed with getting a M-12 or a M-37 back in the day as a lad, picking up pecans, saving for my first shotgun.

My great uncle was a trap shooter, ended up with an attic full of silver bowls and trophies. He owned a hdw. store plus a bunch of other businesses, was well respected by me.

I presented him with my delema. He drove a big Buick Roadmaster. His opinion, the Ithaca was like a Ford, the M-12, a Buick. So, I got the M-12.

Today, I have 2 Ithaca 37's, no M-12. 37's are lighter and handier, although the M-12 is a tough shotgun. I eventually traded the Winchester.

Count me as a 37 fan; have 3, including an Ohio-made 12 gauge. Never actually shot a m 12, but have handled a couple. They were okay, but I didn't like the safety location at the front of the trigger guard.

The biggest problem our country has is not systemic racism, it's systemic stupidity.
