Sounds like you got a good deal.
Before I knew what an RWS or a Diana 34 was, I bought a Ruger AirHawk, which I sold, and a Ruger Blackhawk Elite which I still have. Apparently both are clones of a 34, but with the older T5 trigger. They're pretty good for a hundred bucks.
I've since handled an older Diana 34 with the wood stock and it is a lot nicer feeling and more slender and attractive stock than the bulky blocky AirHawk. The Blackhawk Elite is a much sleeker rifle than the AirHawk, but still long and heavy. But accurate.
I like the 34 Panther, and the 34 Pro Compact quite a bit. A nice upgrade from the Ruger.
