I have a really nice B78 with box, manual, sling swivels and R&B's. Shoots great and has a Leupold Vari X iii 6.5-20 AO scope. Ball park on the price? it has one small ding in the clear coat. Thanks.

First if all-you'll get more for the oackage sold seperately than together.

Sell the scope separate from the rifle, box ,and mounts.

Also the Octagon barrels are worth a bit more than the full round
Wood figure varies quite a bit. My first B-78 was an Octagon 22-250 I bought brand new in 1983 and it had feather crotch grain in both sides of the butt. I have seen $10K Diana grade Superposed shotguns with plainer wood. Mine was as good as I have ever seen since but I have seen many B-78s with high grade wood just as nice.

From what I have seen looking at many over the years, the wood on a B-78 would have to be pretty darn opulent to command a premium over other B-78s on the market.

Condition is most important and for the shooter- so is round count.

If your rifle has an Octagon barrel , a sane selling price would be $1,200 if it looks new. The scope is worth $350- $400

I'd say jk16 is about right. If you want to get any more, start there on GB and see what happens. I'd show photos with the scope and be sure to state it's not included. You can always dicker with a buyer and maybe kill two birds with one stone.

If you post pics here, somebody might just make an offer and save you all the fuss (not me! I'm swamped).

What fresh Hell is this?
