All,
I am looking to purchase a DSLR for photos & video. I want to be able to video hunts, but mainly pics. I am leaning toward the Nikon, but would like some some opinions. I am a newbie to a "real" camera.
Thanks,

Very good question. I have Nikon D3100 . It does not take very good video but I ma sure the 7500 is better. I know a young lady from church has a Cannon D80 . She is semi professional and she does a lot of video. She is very happy with it. You will have no problems with either.

That's what I was thinking, too. I have a Panasonic hd video camera that I mainly use, but I really want to try to "learn" photography. Thanmks for the input.

The best way to go, especially for video as a priority is Sony. Hands down, the best option. The mirrorless cameras have the best AF systems. There is a reason Sony passed Nikon for interchangeable lens market share in the USA and is now actually #1 in full frame cameras sold in the USA. They have a great assortment of lenses, they are small and are amazing in low light situations. Feel free to contact me with any questions

You want to video hunt's with it? I've got a D7000 and I guarantee you if your carrying much of anything else, the D7500 will probably be to large and heavy. If I do much walking around I take my D5000, much smaller and lighter. I have tried video with them a couple times and have decided if I want video, I'm gonna buy a video camera.

I'd agree on the video issue. Simply buy a dedicated video unit. It will be 1/3 the weight of a DSLR, and handier to use, and lot more zoom capability. One can still cut individual frames for pics, but they will not have near the resolution of DSLR images.
