The little tiny RMR suitable for pistols or the MRO designed to compete with AR red dots?

I use the RMR sights on my pistols, but wouldn't mount one on an AR for a primary sighting system. It'd hold up fine of course, but the glass quality and window size isn't really up to what I want on a rifle. They are a nice size however for a secondary optic, mounted to a scope for up close use. Is that what you're interested in?

Thanks. Im working on a deal and the guy wants to add a RMR and my initial thought is that it was way too small. Think I was right.
Thanks for the info
