I have a hornady lock n load press and I just hate the lock n load bushing I fully admit I am a novice loader so I do fumble a bit but I enjoy loading
Anyway the lock n load bushing is a pain in the azz it get loose when I dont want it to (adjusting a bushing etc)
I think I want to just secure it in the press and be done I will never buy the 30 bushings they wanted me to I just unscrew the dies when needed
Has anyone done this? I dont think it would be rocket science to secure it, but if you have how have you done it?
Thanks Hank

The down and dirty way would be to degrease the bushing and the press, slather both with JB Weld (tape off and protect areas you don't want the epoxy going, just like bedding a rifle), set the bushing into place and let it dry for a day. I'd have to look, but there might be room to run a pin or set screw to secure the bushing semi-permanently.
Another option is to sell or trade the Hornady for an RCBS or other non-bushing press.
I've partially adopted the LNL bushing system because I have a LNL Progressive and you don't have a choice there. I buy the bushings when I can find them on sale. Only calibers that go through the progressive for large runs get bushings. I have two RCBS single stage, LNL single stage, and LNL progressive.

I use the bushings on my many, many dies & I love them! Keep em dry and you’ll feel them sort of lock in. The detent is pretty positive in my opinion.
As a seasoned loader I habitually check dies constantly, especially when resizing.
If you have bushings and decide you don’t want them I will buy them.
