anyone have experience with these scopes? good/bad/indifferent? glass, holding zero, etc.

I see they are assembled in Japan, designed in Oregon.

Broz and the guys over on Long Range Only seem to think VERY highly on them. He seems to use them and ATACR exclusively. The level plex in the retical is a GREAT feature.

I have a 3-15x44 Whiskey 5 with 1" tube and the Hellfire Illuminated reticle. I grabbed it on Ebay when it was on closeout, and it seemed perfect for a stainless #1 in .223. I don't know of any other quality 1" tube scopes with illuminated reticles. And yeah the gray color matches the stainless rifle.

The first surprise was the turrets were calibrated 1 click = 1 cm - yes, centimeters, never seen that before.

The next surprise was after mounting it for an informal target shoot the point of impact was wandering, and the groups were opening up. I switched to a different rifle. This rifle has shot bug holes in the past with its preferred load, with a loopey 6.5-20.

So basically, the jury is out for me. At some point I'm going to load up some more of its preferred load, and shoot it again, then swap the Loopey back on to it, and see how it groups with each scope.

thanks all.... looks like a good scope from the online reviews and some positive feedback here, I'll like to hear more after you shoot it more tex_n_cal.

I found a 5-25 w/ illuminated triplex (not with level inside) for $700 in the graphite color, which I was going to put on a stainless barrel rifle. Still able to get the custom turret from Sig.

just wondering if that's a good price for a good scope.

Sort of deciding between this one and a Nikon Black possibly...

There is an add for 2-10x42, non-illuminated, silver finish, Whiskey 5 on GunBroker for $299. The add number is 756839200.

eBay had a 15% off code today and I bought a Whiskey 3 illuminated quad plex 4-12x50 for $230. I've seen good reviews on both Whiskey 3 and 5 scopes. The 3 is Philippines and the 5 is Japan. I figured for that price I'll give the 3 a try. I also like the 1 inch tube instead of the 30mm like most illuminated reticles are, just my preference. I do a lot of night time calling so I'll put it through it's paces. Im supposed to get it Saturday so I'll see if I can let you guys know how it's goes. If it all works out with tracking and sight in I'll probably go try to call in a coyote Saturday night with it.

Is that the only difference between the old and new generations?

I think there are others, but that is the one that would sway me. I got in on the LRHSi deals, or I wanted to try one.

Well I got a little trigger happy and ordered a Whiskey 3 4-12x50 (Philippines). I also ordered a 3-15x44 Whiskey 5 (Japan) both Hellfire QuadPlex. They both seem to be quality made, built like a tank and some of the best solid click adjustments that I've felt on a scope. Glass is excellent on both but I give a slight edge to the Whiskey 5 for brightness. Both of my scopes have 1/4 moa. What I like personally is that neither Whiskey 3 or 5 has an AO. I don't like AO. I haven't decided what to put the Whiskey 3 on yet. Here is pics of the Whiskey 5. I'm going to sight the Whiskey 5 in tomorrow and after that I'm going to see if I can spot a ground Hog or 2. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow night.
