II bought an AR10 in 6.5 Creedmoor last week and picked up a ammo can holding 200 Hornady 140 grain BTHP advertised at 2,690 fps mv. I plan on buying four more cans of this so I will end up with 1,000 pieces of brass to reload in my Dillon 550B. Has any one heard that Norma is making 6.5 Creedmoor brass for Hornady? This brass does not look like it was annealed, would they have shined it up after annealing it?

I assume this is a paper punching bullet and not intended for much else except maybe big varmints. If any of you can share any info and shooting experiences with this ammo I would appreciate it.

I also plan on getting a bolt gun with a detachable magazine in this caliber, but with the current events I thought another AR was a better choice as bolt guns will be easier to find later.

Hornady's brass is made in house. The anneal line has been shined off by tumbling.

Luck....is the residue of design...

yup....if it's stamped Hornady, it's made right there in Grand Island Nebraska. None of the Hornady brass I've used has an anneal tint to it....they obviously tumble it clean.

I load the 129 grain Hornady soft point in any of 3 6.5 rifles. There have mostly been for target and casual shooting, no reason they wouldn’t do well on deer when it comes to that.

The Interlocks are fantastic on deer in my .260 and cm. It is my favorite bullet, but the 140s are great, too. I also like the 147 ELDM. At moderate velocity, Interlocks are hard to beat and are always accurate in my rifles.

I ran some 140 ELD M Hornady ammo through a 26 inch barrel and 10 shots averaged 2,660.7 fps. .5 inch group. I am currently working up a Load with 147gr. ELD M bullets and am getting just over 2800fps with the same 26 inch barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor.

I bet it would kill pigs just fine, I use Hornady brass in my Creedmoor’s and 308’s. It seems to be great brass.
