I've been running a 2-7 Leupold. The rifle is a 376 with 20" and irons so I see the sights below 3X. Recoil with the 270 is about 40 #. She's a thumper so I want sufficient eye relief and a bold reticle. And the "problem" is that the rifle is crazy accurate. With a low power scope I feel like I'm limiting it's utilities. I mainly use it as an afternoon deer rifle because I know it's going to either put them down or leave a short, heavy blood trail. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot past 300 with the rifle. I have engaged steel at 325. Bolt lift is 90° so in medium rings I can go up to 50mm ( not that I will but, I'd like more than 33mm).

How about something in the Trijicon line of scopes?

2.5-8x36 Leupold would be a good choice imo. Maybe a Meopta 3-9 if it's not too big. A Conquest DL in 2-8 if you could find one.

Why is the 2-7 limiting? 1.5-4 sounds like it would be plenty for deer inside 200yds.

I chose a Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5x38 for my Sako .375 H&H based on its generous eye relief, magnification, quality, low light performance and cost. The rifle has a sporter weight barrel so recoil is probably comparable. The scopes are discontinued but can still be found.
I also like those Leupold 2.5-8's. They don't have a lot of body length so mounting it where you want it might be an issue.

I have a Leupold VX-2 2-7x33 with a heavy duplex reticle on an Interarms Mark X mannlicher in 9.3x62.
I'm a big fan of the Leupold 2-7x33 with their heavy duplex reticle for most hunting applications.

I use 1-4x20mm and 1.5x6x40mm scopes for coyotes out to 300 yards, can't imagine needing more for deer to that distance. I rea;;y like the FOV on the 1-1.5x bottom end on my rifles.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

one of the most reliable scopes made or as Mule deer says it honest scope " ask him" leupold 6 power x42. I have this scope on my 300 win.mag BLR Browning and this gun shoots well but it does have plenty recoil too and scope has not failed me.

I really liked the Leupold VX3 1.75-6 I ran on my 358 Norma. Was more then enough on the top end. But if eye relief is a non issue for you I would strongly consider a Swaro 3-9X36. Glass is great and they will help keep the weight down on your thumper.

I have a vx3i 1.5-5x20 on a weatherby vanguard dangerous game rifle in 375HH, I had the barrel cut from 24” down to 20 on this gun. The scope has been working great, it’s mounted with Talley quick release rings.

How about a VX3i 2.5-8x36 Leupold with a German #4 reticle? That scope will work well enough at 30' in low light on brown bear and offer plenty of precision for a 300 yard shot. If ya don't like that then look at the 1.75-6x32 with a Post/Duplex reticle from their Custom Shop.

You don’t need more magnification. Shoot with low power more and see for yourself. I regularly hit deer sized targets out last 300 with a 2x scout scope.

Can't disagree with either of those.
