Just as an FYI, Whittaker Guns has a few of the limited run of Ruger Hawkeye Africans in 6.5x55 mm. I thought I'd pass the word after I put one on layaway.
Now to figure out the optics to go on top of it.

Yes, they do have open sights. But my old MKI (post cataract surgery and progressive lens) eyeballs need a scope these days.

Whittaker Ruger 6.5x55Basically the same as the limited run .275 Rigby (aka 7x57) Lipsey's made last year. It's the same rifle as pictured here but obviously different caliber. Lipsey's Ruger African limited rifleIMO that is one very classy and beautiful rifle. Thank God they didn't put a muzzle break on it like the current Ruger Africans.

I live 43 mins from Whitaker’s. Was there today buying more Sitka clothing that’s reduced pricing. Those Rugers look really nice.

Man, wish I had the funds now. I would send my 700 Classic down the river in a heart beat to get the Ruger!

Very nice rifle. The blued bolt handle really sets it off.

I have same in .275 Rigby that I would be willing to part with if someone wanted a pair. Includes Ernie trigger spring and NECG rear aperture sight. 13 rounds of factory fodder down the tube. 1.0" to 1.2" three shot groups. Chasing another shiny object. Shoot me a PM if interested...
