I have posted this in Gunwriters but really this is where there is somebody who has some experience with this. Its my last day before I head back to school. I am been thinking about my next planned rifle acquisition. I am thinking of ordering a Kimber Caprivi in SS and Kevlar in 416 Remington. It still would have express sights but would be a good working rifle. I am curious if anybody has had experience with this option before I go ahead. I think if might be a pretty good gun for Kodiak or Africa if I ever get there.

I've had both the Caprivi and Talkeetna in 375 H&H. Typical of 375's they both shot extremely well with the same load (71.5 gr Re 15 under a 300 gr TSX). And I know the stock configuration and numbers were identical, however, for some unknown reason I had a very difficult time getting my head down on the stock enough to use the open sights on the Talkeetna (SS & Kevlar). The Caprivi (Blue/walnut) no problem. Have you been able to actually handle the rifle you are interested in? Terry

I have the Kimber Caprivi in the Safari with blued metal and wood in 416 Remington. I have had a variety of rifles for big game. This seems to have been the best of the ones that I have had. I do not know much about the composite or stainless versions.

Just saw this discussion. I bought a like new .375 Caprivi, blue and walnut, on a whim. Got a great deal on a 99% gun(no box). I just fell in love with an early FN special order sporter in 7x57 and need to part with the Kimber. I can let it go for $1650 plus shipping. Will put it on the classifieds tomorrow. Cheers, Robert
