Have used a 2.5-10 NSX a bit now and have been going back and forth on trying the SHV 3-10. Took a look today and see a new reticle, #4A with illuminated dot. Sweet!

....then I look a little more and the 3-10 isn't available with illumination, kinda figured that....then the real kicker, the #4A isn't available in North America. Why?

Because US shooters like to have complicated reticles for shooting deer at 100 yards or less at Twilight.

How about just a simple and plain old duplex.

They have the Forceplex which is basically identical to a Leupold duplex. It’s visible in anything resembling legal hunting hours.

I just picked up an SHV 3-10 with the Forceplex or what is otherwise a plain ol' duplex reticle. Illumination on the 3-10 Forceplex would be the cat's azz.

When I bought my 3-10 SHV at the end of the year black Friday? sales I just knew they were gonna put a 'lit' button on them, mine has the foreplex reticle, and is running like a champ so far on my 7 Mashburn Super.

That kind of stuff only happens to me... So on that note, the illumination should be out any day of the 3-10 Forceplex. smile

It's been a couple months, has anyone spoken to NF to get an answer to this?

It’d be would be very, very nice unless they’d add another 4 0z to the scope in the process.

Having played with the 3-10x42 SHV a lot more, I now think the duplex, aka Forceplex, would be well served to hit the buffet as JCMCUBIC suggested. In fact, I’d make it twice as thick starting at 5MOA from center. The existing duplex gets thicker at 2.5 MOA, so fattening it up at 5 would add a windage reference and make it easier for my 51year old eyes to pick up at last light in the timber. I’ve got a 1.5-8x32 Vortex that is a better last light scope than the NF only due to a better reticle, the G4 BDC.

Yeah, it's a skinny jeans metrosexual #4.

I like prm's suggestion on the Forceplex. If they thickened the outer bars it would go a long way in low light...and wouldn't hinder anything in regular light.

I just got my first look at a 3-10x NF SHV Forceplex this past Saturday. Lots to like about that scope. I liked it a lot more than that IMR, IHR, or whatever reticle NF calls it. Is it supposedly as bulletproof as the rest of the NF stuff?

According to Form, the SHV is solid from his testing. Maybe not quite to the levels of the high-end NF stuff, but no slouch either. Which is understandable since the top-tier stuff is 2-3 times the cost.
